Turning a Furrow #1
530*455mm 2020, acrylic on canvas

Berths of the good have been contaminated with follies and injustice.
Enclaves compose novel anthems to retain their proud Gloria Patri.
Riding roughshod over the miserable has become far more common.
Neither have they given up the ship nor quit organizing dreamers’ choir.
Immunity against repetitive deceits has been nulling any rationale.
Embattled history navigates bravely renewed wisdom inside her womb.

Rustling softly across the desert
notes of hope were suddenly halted.

Sheep reflected themselves on vacant smooth surfaces
only to confirm their helplessness
with hardly recollecting the history harmonious.

No artifice compensates the tears and blood of the good.
Funeral bells resounding through the earth;
all the gentle melodies now buried in the sand.

Suffocating darkness reveals the unsavory reality of any false messiah.
Lawbreakers ascend the thrones only to ruin their eminence.
Levies on the miserable make streets more dismal.
Evil-eyed crowds sneer each other while the society turns antisocial.
Bells thus loudly resounding, sheep are still marching toward their abyss.

Numerous teardrops of distorted cities pour into subterranean streams.
Fragmented elegies of the miserable appositely phase our developing revolution.
Any passage contains some unstable half tones;
nevertheless they alone can define the most preferable resolution
—as if every turn of the seasons abruptly realized the fascinating harmonics.

***

I reconfirm the penetrative notes of dawn for the 74th August in the following:

Chapter II: Renunciation of War
Article 9
Aspiring sincerely to an international peace based on justice and order,
the Japanese people forever renounce war as a sovereign right of the nation
and the threat or use of force as means of settling international disputes.
In order to accomplish the aim of the preceding paragraph,
land, sea, and air forces, as well as other war potential, will never be maintained.
The right of belligerency of the state will not be recognized.

Japan's Constitution of 1946
1947-Present

***

Every September brings to my mind the despicable crime by Japanese after the Kanto earthquake:
Massacre of Koreans in 1923.

***

I deeply appreciate friends in South Korea
for the strong protest calls against the worst government of postwar Japan led by Abe,
a good-for-nothing, a shabby totalitarian, or a notorious liar
while media in Japan have been deteriorating into its disgusting flatterers.
Please let me stand by you.

Evil creeds necessarily drown excellent sheep;
Iconic vanity despoils ivy leaves of their once hopeful greens.
Never knowing when the hell fire would calm,
Realm dwellers have still been cultivating uncharted terrains.
Empyrean quietly opens its covert door
bestowing another leaf of our harmonic atlas.

Brave aspects of our wisdom invigorate themselves;
Eliminating any false messiah time and again;
Refusing demagogy with the highest discretion;
Never buried in the noise of hostile attitudes.
Iconoclasm has reasonably been making its progress;
Empires would fall, only to confess their shabby origin.

with hope,
